The nolifer world

Normally when somebody speaks of not having a life, that person speaks of other people. I, on the other hand, speak of myself. I am a genuine nolifer as opposed to all the nolifers that have been falsely labeled as such. To be a genuine nolifer you must meet the following two conditions:

1: You must devote at least 95% of your time to geeky activities.

2: The geeky activities must make you sick.

There are a lot of geeks out there: video gamers; programmers; mathematicians; historians and other geeks. Most of them truly enjoy what they do though and consequently they have a life. A genuine nolifer does not enjoy what he does. He is caught in a downward spiral and can't get out because there is nothing outside the spiral left for him. It is a person who has built his entire life around a geeky activity and reached a point where the geeky activity of choice no longer stimulates. The reason why he can't move on is that he has systematically corrupted himself by doing this one thing too many times. He has sold his soul to the devil and all that is left is an empty husk, lost in its own form, crying as it is dying. The person that plays world of warcraft with bleeding eyes, giving up friends, family and work for the game is a nolifer. The person that codes 24/7 with his hands aching and his skin peeling off due to perpetual hardware radiation is a nolifer. The avid forum debater who keeps losing debates but always comes back for more punishment is a nolifer. The workaholic that has been divorced by his wife due to never being around is a nolifer. The woman who chooses career over children is a nolifer.

So what kind of nolifer am I? More than one actually. I am what you could call a multi nolifer, which is quite the contradiction. Being a nolifer is a contradiction of human nature, however, so it is perfectly in line with the context at hand. Which brings us to the question I have been meaning to ask all along:

what kind of nolifer are you?

This website is an online wormhole leading into the world of nolifers. Here nolifers can share their hell with the outside world and thus serve as many a warning example to all the border line nolifers, so called borderliners, that happen to stumble upon the website. A nolifer is beyond redemption but he can still save others by sharing his world with the outside world. Great power is needed to initiate and perpetuate change. Knowledge is one such power but information is not knowledge until it is shared.
